Simple bystander interventions to promote gender equity

As we mark International Women’s Day on March 8, I sit down to chat with Enmasse CEO Mark Dean on some of the progress we are beginning to see in workplaces to promote gender equity. We also discuss some simple strategies for intervening at work when we witness “microaggressions” and other behaviours that can harm efforts to build an inclusive and equitable culture.

Where our social safety is threatened, or we perceive that there’s going to be a threat to that, the research is saying we are less likely to step in. As we know, social safety is closely aligned with psychological safety.
